Power of Us Workforce Survey

Power of Us Workforce Survey Overview
Millions of professionals and volunteers work with young people daily in the many settings where youth play, learn, and grow outside the school day. Yet, we have little collective information about this essential workforce. We want to know more about those still in the youth fields and those who left so we can explore, define, and elevate this collective workforce and their work with youth.
In 2022, youth-serving professionals and volunteers are invited to take the Power of Us Workforce Survey. This first-of-its-kind study seeks to know and understand more about the experiences and pathways into the youth fields workforce. The survey data can help inform policy, practice, and further research to better support the workforce.
About the Survey
The American Institutes for Research (AIR) will administer the Power of Us Workforce Survey. This independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization conducts behavioral and social science research and delivers technical assistance domestically and internationally. The survey will be available until December 31, 2022.
The Power of Us is a national survey designed for the participation of the youth fields workforce across sectors and geographies. Through the Power of Us Workforce Survey, youth-serving professionals and volunteers can contribute to a national effort to explore, define, and elevate their work with youth.
The resulting survey data can help inform policy, practice, and further research to better support the workforce.
The survey is part of a larger Youth Fields Study, commissioned and funded by The Wallace Foundation as part of its mission to support and share effective ideas and practices. Collaborative Communications is leading the communications campaign for the study, and AIR is conducting the entire study with a constellation of partners.
All right, Delaware, let’s show up and show out! The Delaware Afterschool Network invites individuals to be part of the Power of Us campaign. We need 300 youth workers to complete the survey, and in sharing your story with the campaign, you can help others SEE themselves as part of the workforce and understand why they, too, should take the survey.
