Federal policy:

Check out Afterschool Alliance’s page on federal afterschool policy priorities. The Afterschool Alliance has several key policy priorities aimed at increasing access to quality afterschool and summer learning programs for all young people with an emphasis on children most in need.

State policy:

Recent Delaware specify policy:

Delaware: House Majority Leader passed a resolution for a Statewide Afterschool Initiative Learning (SAIL) Task Force which led to a 2019 creation of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Council

Delaware: (HB 92-1) created an Extended Learning Opportunities Subcommittee to coordinate, research and plan for before- and afterschool and summer learning programs for school-age children statewide. The law includes a set place for the Director of the Delaware Afterschool Network on the committee.

Delaware (Funding): In 2017, Delaware’s Governor announced the dedication of almost $1 million of the Neighborhood Building Blocks Fund from the Department of Justice to afterschool programs.
